Fantastic day fishing on Gotland with great company and a knowledgeable guide that was able to improve my technical skills and knowledge. Definitely booking them again and incredibly thankful for the guide taking extra care and time to maximize our changes to catch a fish in bad condition that been the last days and week. Caught and lost one while and other group got two large silvers but against all odds because cold weather and strong winds last days.

We booked a trip/guided fishing trip with FYD at the end of march 2022, with high hopes of getting a chance to catch a couple of good sea trouts. Unfortunately the weather conditions were not on our side.
We had a full day guiding with two (one in training) of FYD guides which started good but as the day went on the guides became less helpfull and enthusiastic.
At the end of the day we were told that a new guide would take over for the following day, which we must admit was not expected, as we assumed that the same guides that were booked for the two days of guiding, would be the same for both days.
Nevertheless the next days guide was very helpfull and kept our hopes alive all day despite us losing two larger fish and having contact with a few others.
Gotland is a great sea trout fishing island, and conditions can vary, as everywhere, but I would however feel that if you have good knowledge of coastal sea trout fishing then a guide is not necessarily worth the money.
You can easily find great spots all around the island, with a little background homework, and common sense fish can be found everywhere.
We’ll be back on Gotland, but probably not in FYD’s company.
